A ‘happier family’ in Perthshire thanks to superfast broadband

Ann Cook, a resident of Tibbermore, near Perth, struggled with slow internet speeds, which made every day online activities a frustrating experience. Thanks to the Scottish Government’s R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme (SBVS), Ann has been able upgrade to full fibre broadband installed by registered supplier, Gigaloch. 

"Downloads used to take ages," Ann recalls, making it difficult to access files and updates while working. Additionally, “the poor connection speed made it impossible to watch streaming services like Disney+ and Netflix.” 

Thanks to the Scottish Government’s R100 SBVS, these are things of the past. 

• Working from home: "Now my husband and I can work at home without dropping connections, especially on Teams calls," Ann explains. The reliable connection has made remote work smooth and efficient. 
• Enhanced streaming: The family can now enjoy streaming services like Disney+ and Netflix without any buffering or delays. 
• Online gaming: Thanks to the improved connection “kids can be online through gaming consoles without any issues.” 

The installation of full fibre broadband in Ann's home has transformed her family's internet experience:
