Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme

The R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme (SBVS) is helping deliver faster broadband to every home and business in Scotland.

The scheme provides a subsidy of up to £5,000 for eligible properties and covers all direct installation costs carried out by a registered supplier.

Your property could be eligible if both:

  • your current broadband connection speed is less than 30 Megabits per second
  • there are no plans for a superfast connection in the R100 contracts or commercial build

You can use the address checker to find out if your home or business is eligible. If you are eligible, you can find out how to engage an SBVS registered supplier and what to do if a supplier contacts you.

Registered suppliers

There are more than 40 suppliers registered with the R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme. The type of connection they can provide will often depend on your location. The following YouTube videos explain the different technologies available:

Updated approach to SBVS administration

As the first Project Gigabit procurements in Scotland launch, the approach to how SBVS is being administered has been updated.

Applications can still be submitted for individual properties with either a superfast or gigabit-capable broadband solution. Applications can also be submitted for multiple properties with a superfast broadband solution.

However, applications for multiple properties with a gigabit-capable broadband solution have been temporarily paused. This change took effect on 19 August 2024.  A similar approach for new projects is in place for the UK Government’s Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (GBVS).
