Rest of Scotland
In April 2025, the UK government awarded Openreach a £157 million call-off contract to deliver gigabit-capable broadband to around 65,000 premises across Scotland.
This has received additional investment of £18 million for build in Dumfries and Galloway, which will include some premises in the Scottish Borders, and will now cover more than 77,000 premises in total, including the Highlands, Outer Hebrides and other hard-to-reach areas.
This contract is part of the UK-wide framework, which is being co-managed in Scotland by the Scottish Government, creating opportunities to drive efficiencies between R100 and Project Gigabit that will enable even more access to gigabit-capable broadband.
Openreach has started the surveying process and construction has begun in some areas. Our address checker will continue to be updated as details are confirmed.
Residents can also sign up to Openreach’s fibre checker for updates on their premises’ build.
Find out more about the build process on our YouTube channel.
Once the build is complete, residents and businesses will be able to enjoy faster, more reliable internet by upgrading with their current provider or by switching to a new broadband deal.
The following map shows clusters of all the premises currently identified as being within the scope of this contract.
Please note: these locations remain subject to change as survey work progresses.
